RENO CHECKLIST

ORDER OF OPERATIONS

  • The order of operations is crucial! We believe in full transparency, ensuring our clients understand the extensive preparation involved before construction even begins.

  • The behind-the-scenes work is essential to laying a solid foundation for the project.

  • Additionally, following a well-planned sequence during the kitchen assembly is vital to ensure everything is executed correctly, avoiding costly mistakes and ensuring a smooth, efficient renovation.

CHECK AS YOU GO:

1: demolition

  • Remove old cabinets, countertops, appliances and flooring​​

  • Disconnect utilities (water, gas, and electricity)

  • Taking precautions to protect surrounding areas from dust and debris.

2: structural work

  • Address any structural changes like removing walls or adding beams

  • Check for and resolve any damage (e.g., water damage, mold, or pests 

3: rough-in work

  • Plumbing: Install or reroute plumbing for sinks, dishwashers, and refrigerators

  • Electrical: Run wiring for outlets, lighting, and appliances

  • HVAC: Adjust or install new ductwork if required

4: inspection

  • Schedule inspections for plumbing, electrical and structural work as required by local building code

  • Address any issues identified during inspection

5: construction

  • Drywall

  • Painting

  • Cabinetry + Hardware

  • Flooring

  • Appliances + Fixtures (sinks, faucets, garbage disposals, vent hoods/ventilation)

  • Backsplash

  • Lighting + electrical finishes

  • Final Touches (trim, baseboards, decorative elements, paint touch-ups)

6: final steps

  • Final inspection and walkthrough, ensure everything is as per code. 

  • Address any final list items with contractors

  • Deep clean to remove all dust and debris

  • Finally... MOVE IN!
